Emmanuelle Michaux is happy to present to you her first virtual exhibition.
This project is the result of images taken from anonymous amateur film footage, dating from the 1930s to the 1950s. Printed on diverse paper types (Rosaspina Japanese, or Canson), the photographs have been reworked with gold leaf and Indian ink.
The exhibition is offered as an inventory of landscapes and faces, in black and white.
Where, illuminated by clouds of gold leaf, the landscapes take on a unique character, an identity, a face; the faces, their mystery restored, become strange landscapes.
All pieces on display are originals, framed, and offered for sale.
